Entries are now open for this unique awards event, aiming to celebrate and promote women in architecture, and those striving for greater diversity within the industry.

Architecture+Women•NZ shines the spotlight on women working in the field of architecture.

The A+W•NZ Dulux Awards foster the generosity that exists in New Zealand’s architectural community and seek to highlight those whose excellent work is sometimes unseen.

The Awards reward ‘bodies of work’ rather than single architectural projects – an area already well served by many other awards programmes. The act of nominating an individual and/or practice is part of the Awards goal to encourage collegiality among the architectural community.

To promote inclusivity — one of the organisation’s core aims — entering the awards is free and the process has been kept simple to remove any barriers to entering. In addition to this, one award out of three is not exclusive to female entrants only.

This year’s jury consists of international juror Justine Clark (co-founder and Director of Parlour), Craig Moller (Director at Moller Architects), Dr. Sarah Treadwell (architect, academic and creative) and Carinnya Feaunati (Senior Associate at Designgroup Stapleton Elliott).

The 2023 A+W•NZ Dulux Awards categories are:

    • Chrystall Excellence

Celebrating the full and rich career of a female in the field of architecture

    • Munro Diversity

Celebrating those who work hard to support diversity in the field of architecture.

    • Wirihana Leadership

Celebrating a developing career for females in their second decade after graduation.

Nominations for the A+W•NZ Dulux Awards 2023 are open and close on Thursday 1 June.
