Herriot Melhuish O’Neill Architects recently celebrated the launch of their new Auckland studio in Parnell Road with a gathering of Auckland colleagues and friends.

Led by director Matt Pearson, the new Parnell Road studio continues the approach set by the Wellington and Christchurch studios, which Christchurch director Duval O’Neill describes as a belief in the craft of architecture. “It’s not about a style or trend but an approach that focuses on an honesty of materials and a commitment to finding appropriate solutions for our clients.”

Herriot Melhuish O’Neill also enjoy the craft of beer and the launch party was an opportunity to give Auckland a taste of some good brews from Wellington’s Garage Project.

It’s a milestone year for the multi award-winning NZIA practice. Alongside opening the Auckland studio, the business, established in 1997 by John Melhuish and Max Herriot, has just added long-term director Duval O’Neill to its name and rebranded. 2017 also marks the company’s 20th birthday.
