We’re delighted to welcome Plumbline as a brand-new sponsor of the Interior Awards 2023.  Their Wellington-based Managing Director, Brad Wallace, talks to us about how Plumbline’s exciting range of products supports architects and designers in finding products that are not only beautiful, but also sustainable and environmentally responsible.

What new products or innovations does the design industry need to be aware of?

Brad: Plumbline’s 2023 catalogue features a host of new and exciting products, including Buddy Pro, an update to our Buddy tapware collection. Highlights from our bathroom furniture collections include Strata, manufactured from solid Ash, and Stanza Curve, which forms Oak veneer into beautifully curved vanities. Both collections are made here in New Zealand. Coloured basins and baths from Claybrook include Flute, a new collection of beautiful, sculptural designs manufactured from Marbleform, a patented material produced with reclaimed stone.

What is your company doing to help specifiers and designers reach their clients’ sustainability goals?

Brad: We love working collaboratively to find solutions for each project; for some clients, this means a bath or basin made from recycled materials, for others, it’s a complete offer that meets 6 Green Star building standards. Our choice of world-class suppliers ensures lead-free tapware, the latest water-saving technology and recycled materials — all options for specifiers and designers to choose from. We’re always on the lookout for new products that are both beautiful and sustainable, and constantly working to improve every aspect, including packaging.

What future trends from your market segment do you see on the horizon for the architecture and design industry?

Brad: Travelling to trade fairs allows us to see emerging international trends first-hand and gives us the opportunity to connect with the best design-led suppliers. Plumbline is well known for leading the market with coloured tapware, bathroom furniture, basins and baths, and we see colour continuing to grow in importance. The use of natural and sustainable materials and finishes will continue to grow in both residential and commercial applications, alongside customised solutions, which help turn clients’ dreams into reality.

If there was one thing you would like the industry to know about your company, what would that be?

Brad: We’re passionate about our customers creating beautiful bathrooms. We pride ourselves on having a complete collection with a wide range of colour options, backed by a large warehouse and knowledgeable staff. But, most importantly, if there is something you want that we don’t have, we’ll do our best to find it for you.
