The New Zealand Institute of Architects is calling for volunteers to staff the New Zealand Exhibition at the 2014 Venice Architecture Biennale. The exhibition will be open for the duration of the Biennale – 5 June to 23 November.

“This is a great opportunity to take part in the Biennale and get a close up view of one of the world’s great architecture events,” says New Zealand Institute of Architects chief executive Teena Pennington.

“It’s also a chance to spend some weeks in a unique city that’s singularly attractive to anyone with an interest in art and architecture.”

Staff will be required to commit for a period of two to four weeks at the exhibition, which is being prepared by a team led by creative director David Mitchell. The exhibition will be staged in the Palazzo Pisani Santa Marina, an historic building located a few minutes from the Rialto Bridge.

Free accommodation for volunteers will be provided in an apartment at the exhibition venue. Volunteers will be expected to meet the costs of their transport to Venice and their living costs while in the city.

Information about the exhibition attendant positions may be found on the New Zealand exhibition website.
