Dress Code by Fukutoshi Ueno 2009 Clarence Prize Winner

The Clarence Prize, awarded by Tasmania’s Clarence Council, celebrates excellence in furniture design and craftsmanship and this year will offer a total prize pool of $14,000. Seventeen artists have been invited to submit pieces to the exhibition this year, with the entries to be judged by artist and designer Pippa Dickson and art lover and part-time Tasmanian resident, Leo Schofield.

The prize winner will be announced at the event opening on 13 October. The Clarence Prize is finding its niche within Australia’s art community as a prize that celebrates accessible and functional furniture art.
