Nanette Cameron.

Nanette Cameron: Objectspace Master of Craft is the third in a series of exhibitions celebrating the achievements of outstanding New Zealand practitioners working at the highest level in the fields of craft, design and the applied arts.

For more than 40 years Nanette Cameron has introduced countless others to art and design through her school in Pakuranga. As well as an educator, she has been a practitioner, advocate, and commentator on interior design, as well as a conduit between interior design and the worlds of architecture and the visual arts.

The exhibition comprises a room, designed by Cameron, which includes works from her private collection and new works chosen especially for the installation. The curatorial team includes film maker and costume designer Kirsty Cameron, interior designer and stylist Katie Lockhart and producer Vivienne Stone.

The exhibition will be held at Objectspace in Ponsonby, Auckland from 18 October to 17 December. Accompanying the exhibition will be a companion publication – the first to focus on contemporary design practice in New Zealand – containing illustrations and significant essays. Additionally, two public programmes will be held, offering the chance to meet and speak with Nanette Cameron. For more information about these and the exhibition, visit the website.
