Start practising your moves now, because the Dance-O-Mat is getting ready to land in Aotea Square in time for National Dance Week (22–30 April).
Originally developed by community group Gap Filler to activate an unused area of post-quake Christchurch, the Dance-O-Mat is a fully equipped, professional dance floor that anyone can use. It was made famous back in 2012 when none other than the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, Charles and Camilla took to the floor for a twirl!
Simply plug in your personal music device and boogie under the lights and mirror ball. A schedule of Dance Week events will also be happening on the Mat, including Latin, Hip Hop, K-Pop, and a launch event featuring Kiwi dancer Parris Goebel.
Visit aucklandlive.co.nz for details. See you on the Mat!
