Emerge #1: Practice

EMERGE #1: Practice will be the first of a quarterly series looking to delve into what being an architectural graduate and emerging practitioner is like, using the experience of other emerging practitioners, architects and practices to help drive the conversation.

Join Aaron Paterson, Sarosh Mulla, Rory Kofoed, Liz Tjahjana and Kim Huynh of PAC who will, through a panel discussion, delve into what it is like to start and operate a practice. PAC are a practice who are open to unconventional propositions.

Drawing from a library of diverse and unusual projects that have required innovative architectural solutions, coupled with contributions to architectural education and critique, this first event will focus on practice by sharing the work of both individuals and a design office who are pushing the definition of what it means to practice architecture.

Paterson Architecture Collective is an ideas-driven design office, committed to intellectual and artistic rigour, and fuelled by a strong commitment to realising ideas in the world. PAC believe in a thoughtful and inclusive approach to design, and that by putting people at the heart of any potential solution is the key to compelling and positive architecture.

EMERGE is a series of events organised by graduates and emerging practitioners and supported by the NZIA Auckland branch. A national committee was formed by a group of graduates and recently registered architects who have set their sights on building a strong support network for their peers, both regionally and nationally. The purpose is to cultivate a strong collegial community for all emerging and graduate individuals, who are navigating their way through the architectural and design profession.

Drinks and snacks will be available from 6pm, panel discussion starts at 6.30pm.

This is a free event but registrations are essential. Register here.
