The 2018 Festival of Architecture, organised by the New Zealand Institute of Architects, will explore the role of architecture in improving New Zealanders’ quality of life within our towns and cities. The festival is comprised of tours, talks, debates and exhibitions, many of which are free.

Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Nelson, Tauranga, and Hamilton are all confirmed centres for this year with more to be added soon. The programme aims to bring people of all ages and expertise together to share their love for and knowledge of architecture and design.

This year’s event will be curated by Jeremy Hansen, a writer and commentator with 15 years experience in bringing New Zealand architecture, design, and social issues to the public. President of the New Zealand Institute of Architecture, Christina van Bohemen, says, “Jeremy is very familiar with the New Zealand architecture scene, and more than that, he is excellent at communicating architecture to a wider audience. And that is what the Festival of Architecture is all about.”

Keep up to date with the latest information and announcements about the festival on the New Zealand Institute of Architects website.
