Grand Designs Live Australia is an official extension of the hugely successful international television show that follows the progress of self builders in pursuit of architectural brilliance.

Grand Designs Live Australia focuses on interior, landscape and building products and will feature a series of product launches, debates, exhibits and opportunities for one-on-one discussion.

Stroll through the sustainable Designer Eco Village built by SBS Residential. This main feature, located within Grand Outdoors, will include two architecturally designed zero-energy houses decorated by an interior designer, and professionally landscaped gardens.

Sit in the Philips House of the Future theatre, which will showcase the latest technology, design and innovation for the home. Sessions run daily every hour on the hour from 11 am.

Join conversations between architects and their clients about the creation of a home at Our Houses presented by Houses magazine. The panels will discuss the process of creating a home that responds to its environment and supports the lifestyle of the people who inhabit it. This event is a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes and to hear about the way architects and their clients have worked together to negotiate issues of site, climate, sustainability, history, context and the way we live today. Sessions encompass a conversation about Four Horizons, a house and garden that are evolving over time; a conversation about a house by Grand Designs Australia host Peter Maddison; and a conversation about two family collaborations, one involving architect Anthony Gill and the other involving architect Virginia Kerridge.

The Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia – Rooms by Design sponsored by Dulux is located within Grand Interiors and will play host to the Design Stage. It will showcase four rooms, taking into consideration future trends that are altering the way we live and the spaces we live in.

The Miele Kitchen Theatre will play host to the culinary delights of Gourmet Traveller‘s Best New Talent 2011 winner, Matt Stone. Visitors will also have the chance to interact and experience Miele appliances used on the kitchen stage.

Grand Designs Live Australia is part of the Sydney Architecture Festival. Check the festival website for a full program of events.
