Incubation in Isolation

Michael Smythe’s recent book New Zealand By Design: A History of New Zealand Product Design richly illustrates the way product design has been formed by the isolation of the country most recently inhabited by ‘tool making animals’. His book will inform, entertain, intrigue and surprise readers interested in Kiwi heritage, creativity, culture, economics, politics, technology, industry and the deeply driven need for human beings to design better lives.

At this public lecture, hosted by Victoria University of Wellington’s School of Design, Michael will speak in further depth about his book.

The book will be available for sale and Michael will be signing copies before and after his presentation.
