FFWD016: Christina van Bohemen & Teena Hale-Pennington

The University of Auckland School of Architecture and Planning’s annual guest lecture series, Fast Forward, aims to foster debate, discussion and development within the disciplines of architecture, urban planning and urban design. There will be six events taking place from July to October 2016.

Wednesday 17 August:
Christina van Bohemen & Teena Hale-Pennington of the NZIA, Auckland
The Profession Today

Engineering Lecture Theatre 439, 20 Symonds Street, 6.30pm.

In May 2016 Christina van Bohemen took up the position of president of the New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA). She is only the second woman elected to this position, the first having been Helen Tippett over a quarter of a century ago. With Teena Hale-Pennington as its chief executive officer, the NZIA now has women in both of its key leadership roles. It is a historic time across architecture and engineering, as IPENZ also has a female president and CEO. In this session, Christina and Teena will discuss key issues facing the profession today and their vision for its future direction.

All lectures start at 6.30pm, are free and open to the public.

The series is recognised by the New Zealand Institute of Architects as an accredited professional development activity, with each lecture attended earning 10 CPD points.

Fast Forward 2016 is supported by GIB and sponsored by the NZIA, The Warren Trust, Te Pūtahi and The University of Auckland Society.
