This year marks Autex Acoustics’ second year of partnership with the Interior Awards, having joined the programme last year. We asked the team to tell us about one of their favourite interiors and to share some thoughts about the Awards programme.

Jonathan, tell us about one of the previous winners of the Interior Awards that resonated with you and why?

Jonathan: I was stoked when Elisapeta Heta of Jasmax won the Emerging Design Professional award last year. In my opinion, the best architecture in New Zealand connects the people and the land they are from, inclusively and collaboratively. Elisapeta winning this award is recognition that the right people are moving into the right places.

Danielle, is there a favourite hospitality spot, either here or overseas, that you always recommend?

Danielle: I always recommend Amano in Auckland’s Britomart. The amazing food is a given but the real treat is how acoustically sound the space is. It can be filled with people and you can comfortably and calmly chat at your table. Nowhere else like it!
