The National Association of Women in Construction’s Excellence Awards programme exists to encourage and celebrate women in an industry that currently has less than a 15 per cent female-to-male ratio.

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is accepting nominations for their 2019 Excellence Awards with entries closing on 12 July.

Awards will be presented across seven categories – The Helen Tippett Award, Tradeswoman of the Year, Professional Woman of the Year, Rising Star, Excellence in Construction Services, Outstanding Achievement in Design and Student/Apprentice Excellence Award – at a gala event on 27 September at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron’s Ballroom in Auckland.

The programme aims to encourage and celebrate women in an industry which is overwhelmingly dominated by males. NAWIC chair Jenny Parker says, “This is YOUR time to shine – go for it! Let’s make these the best awards ever by getting your entry in as soon as you can.”

This year’s NAWIC Excellence Awards will be presented in partnership with BCITO. Parker notes, “I am very excited that NAWIC are partnering with BCITO for this year’s Excellence Awards. We have formed an excellent relationship with them already and look forward to working even more with this organisation in the future.”
