Samsung has created a concept home that can be transformed and configured to suit any occasion. The Home Smart Home project was unveiled 4 October on Auckland’s waterfront.

The dwelling, designed by Jerome Buckwell and Steven Thurman of Jasmax, will be continuously redesigned to suit how it’s being used, taking into account the constant change present in our modern lives, Samsung Electronics New Zealand marketing director Mike Cornwell says.

“The home can be transformed and configured to make any Kiwi occasion better. Using simple modular components, the walls, windows, floors and fittings can be rearranged to create completely different spaces for everything from a bustling cocktail party to a romantic candle-lit dinner.”

The house consists of four modules: a kitchen/laundry remains stationery while the three other modules can be moved to cater to different occasions.

The concept home is open to the public in Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter from 4 October to 21 October. Samsung welcomes people to apply to host their event in the dwelling.
