This year marks Kada’s 11th year of partnership with the Interior Awards, having come on board from the start as a founding sponsor. We asked the team to share with us some of their favourite interiors along with some thoughts about the Awards programme.

Dave, as a founding sponsor of the Interior Awards, is there one year over the last 11 that you have sponsored that has stood out for you in particular and why?

Dave: The last 11 events have all been just brilliant, hence Kada remaining as a founding sponsor. I remember walking into the first event, held in Imperial Lane, and thinking: “You’ve hit the nail on the head AGM.” We needed a high-calibre interior awards event, outside of architectural awards, and this has been well-polished ever since that first one. Well done AGM – keep up the great work from all of us in the interior industry collective.

Sara, is there a favourite hospitality spot, either here or overseas, that you always recommend?

Sara: When in Rome, Giolitti gelato, are the two words you need to remember. A short work from the Pantheon, this little gelato shop has the best ice cream ever. Super creamy with an abundance of flavours, I would totally recommend the Stracciatella. This family-run business has been operating since 1900, with three generations passing along the secrets to a successful ice cream cone. It is always the one place I recommend to fellow travellers and guaranteed that it will leave a lasting impression.

Maurice, tell us what you have enjoyed most about being a sponsor of the Interior Awards?

Maurice: Over the past two years of Covid, it has been really nice to be able to support the Interior Awards and the AGM team, who do such a wonderful job with the programme. We have so much design talent here in New Zealand – it is always so inspirational to see so many amazing quality designs year after year.
