A new awards programme has been established to acknowledge urban design projects and to promote the benefits of high quality place-making in New Zealand’s towns and cities. Entries are open now until Friday 14 September, 2012.

The NZ Urban Design Awards 2012 programme comprises of two main categories:

Built Projects - including urban design-based projects constructed since 2000.

Envisaging Projects - defined as urban design-based projects that prepare planning frameworks for new urban developments or for the redevelopment of existing sites. 

The new awards programme is supported by the New Zealand Institute of Architects; New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects; Property Council New Zealand; New Zealand Planning Institute; and New Zealand Urban Design Forum.
