Principal of Gascoigne Associates. Mark has worked on a variety of architectural projects during the past 25 years of practice, but specialises primarily on commercial interiors – retail, hospitality and corporate. Mark has worked on the design of over 1000 shops both in New Zealand and overseas in Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and Germany. He has a background in theatre and the music business before obtaining his architectural degree in 1984, he combines his interests in theatre and architecture with specialist knowledge in lighting design. Mark has been involved in a number of professional bodies and was on the committee that set up the Designers Institute of New Zealand. He has judged numerous design competitions in the fields of architecture, interior design, lighting, retail and industrial design. He has also won over 100 design awards including a ‘Stringer’ for interior design.
