Joanna Theodore is a UK and NZ registered architect, heritage specialist and ICOMOS member, based in Auckland. She has worked on significant, award-winning, heritage projects both in the UK as well as in New Zealand. Joanna’s experience spans across major cultural, commercial, hospitality and multi-unit residential projects. She specialises in design, as well as the assessment of buildings. As such, Joanna has written a number of significant Conservation Plans and heritage reports. She is currently responsible for projects across New Zealand, including Auckland and Wellington. Joanna takes a practical and balanced approach, and with a friendly and collaborative attitude, she has built strong relationships with clients, other consultants and territorial authorities alike. Careful research and evidence are always at the core of her designs and recommendations, thus earning trust and integrity. Having worked as an architect and a project manager, she has first-hand experience of the multiple goals, from different stakeholders, which drive a project. She can synthesise these objectives and focus the whole project team on the “big picture” that makes her approach successful, enabling a holistic and positive outcome. Joanna is also a Professional Teaching Fellow at the University of Auckland, teaching third-year and post-graduate students.
