Sparking off the Auckland Arts Festival 2013 in the first week is The Breath of the Volcano, a firework show designed specifically for this festival, by French pyrotechnic company Groupe F.

Following that will be an array of exhibitions, shows and music performances, planned for 30 locations and venues across Auckland. The National Theatre of Great Britain present their comedy play One Man, Two Guvnors, Circolombia present Urban, a circus experience complete with live reggaeton soundtrack and acrobatic feats.

Also back at 2013’s festival is the visual arts’ White Night. For one night only, on Saturday 16 March, over 50 of Auckland’s galleries will be open from 6pm until midnight and visitors can travel by a free bus to the locations.
