Battered timber floors, Flotsam & Jetsam industrial fittings, classic pieces of audio equipment and vintage manequins set the tone for Barker’s chic new temporary space on Auckland’s popular Ponsonby Road.

The store’s masculine, industrial-chic aesthetic and eclecticism is a noticeable shift from the traditional Barkers stores, emphasising the brand’s increased bent towards boutique and collaborative.

Alongside styled racks of Barkers mens clothes are exclusive vintage wool ties and hand-crafted leather goods by Parisian, tees with Flying Nun and exclusive ranges from Timex, Converse and Leuchtturm. There’s also a collection of the best Barkers (we all remember the classic track-pants) and little brother merchandise, and more scattered surprises within the store space.

Barkers (& friends) is only open for eight weeks. Check it out at 154 Ponsonby Road, Auckland. www.barkersclothing.co.nz
