Six New Zealand artists and designers took a jaunt to Munich, Germany, in March to show off their wares at the Talentè and Schmuck exhibitions. Artist Fatemeh Aghahasan, typographer Tamsin Fraser and textile artist Briar Mark, all from Auckland, along with Napier’s Hayden Maunsell, were part of Talentè, which profiles emerging designers.

At Schmuck, where up-and-coming jewellers were showcased, Kristin D’Agostino from Auckland and Wellington husband-and wife makers Karl Fritsch and Lisa Walker were in residence. The members of the Kiwi contingent were selected to be amongst the 100 exhibitors from 600 applicants and used the time to develop relationships with overseas buyers, galleries and curators.
