You couldn’t have asked for a better location for the Urbis Designday® headquarters. In the middle of Ponsonby road, one of Auckland’s most stylish streets, the MINI Garage was filled with Designday® guests. Visitors were checking out the new MINI Countryman which is the larger four-door version of the MINI Clubman, offering more space while keeping the fun and fresh elements of the original MINI.

One of the highlights at the Urbis headquarters was Hewlett Packard’s installation. Inside a huge inflatable cube supplied by Eventbase, HP had two inflatable projection balls from Innovative Markets which played a series of mind-bending 30second full CG animations. The films were created by a talented group of graduates from the Media Design School, with each of the four teams vying to take out the prestigious title of HP Future Designer. The outstanding ‘Cookies and Scream’ animation from Jonathan Sothern, Ejiwa Ebenebe, Tiana McKenzie, Antony Carter was recently voted the winner.

Last year’s HP Future Designer, Anzac Tasker, was also part of Urbis Designday® this year, his talents having been spotted by the owner of essenze, Clare Mora, and invited to do an installation in her showroom.

As well as MINI and HP, Urbis launched the new-look magazine at the Urbis headquarters on the day. With coffee served by Coffee Supreme, Fererro Rocher chocolates, and some of the best pages of the magazine on show for Designday® punters to look at, there was a lot of stunning design for guests to enjoy.
